Magic and Petals

I have been terrible at updating my blog. Come work and play and whoosh, everything just goes over my head.

Caught The Illusionists at MBS last Saturday and while some of the tricks were really impressive, I still miss my David Copperfield and tigers/lions roaming on stage. Also, although the show is suitable for all ages, I felt that some of the acts weren’t really suitable for little children. Remembering how I was as a kid, I would have be scared shitless by the ‘joker’ looking dude, haha!

Some of the scenes, costumes and music reminded me of Voyage de la Vie but what do I know. That aside, the theatre was really full and I’d recommend watching it. It’s been ages since we’ve had a decent magic show, much less five world class illusionists in Singapore.

It’s Valentine’s Day

While I don’t believe in this ‘special’ day, I’m gonna blog about love today.

To all those in a relationship, cherish your partner. Don’t wait till the person is gone before you realise all the goodness he/she has. No one is perfect and everyone has their own rhythm but keep trying, and eventually you’ll find middle ground. No one ever said it was gonna be easy.

Just remember, no one should ever make you shed tears of sadness. If that happens, talk about it and hopefully you never have to cry over the same thing again. If you do, consider moving on. I believe that being in a relationship should make you a better person. It should bring out the best in you, vice versa.

To all those who are single, be patient. Everyone has love to share and there’s always room to be loved. There are many in this world that you can share your love with. Start with your family and friends and don’t forget about those who least deserve it. All I can say is that you deserve the best – even if that means waiting it out for a bit.

So on this day, I propose a toast to all of you. For days filled with love and less suffering – a toast to a better place on earth. Cheers ♥

Lions in the Loft

Last Friday was a special day for my client, iFly Singapore. They had eight lions, two dragons and one very dark cai shen ye bless the facility. It was also the official opening of their new rooftop bar and restaurant, SkyLoft, in the evening (psst, the view is amazing! Great place to impress your date).

So as you can imagine, we were all very busy. However, the saying is true, “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day”. While that is taking it to an extreme level (as I am not bouncy and chirpy everyday because of work), I really do love the work I do.

At the end of the day when my clients celebrate, I feel happy. When they meet with obstacles, I feel sad. Simply put, I totally believe in growing with a brand and of course, I’m sure it’s also self-actualisation in play ;)

Wild Honey @ Scotts Square

Had breakfast for dinner last night at Wild Honey. Their new outlet at Scotts Square is really pretty and gives off the old school homey feel. Even better, this outlet takes reservations so make sure you book to avoid the crowds! I had the Norweigian which is a generous serving of smoked salmon on two poached eggs with lots of hollandaise on toasted brioche. Yums!
